Ted Horton

Ted Horton is a Senior Consultant and Advisor to Brookwood Group. He is keenly interested in and works on significant architectural projects that effectively address project economics, quality construction, and considerations in alternative energy. In addition to his longstanding association with Brookwood Group, Ted is the founder of Antaeus Properties, a firm he launched more than 30 years ago. He also started NorCalPV LLC, a photovoltaic power developer, in 2006.

Working in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii, Ted’s objective is the production of assets that reflect a keen understanding of the land, provide attractive returns on the investment funds he is entrusted with, and are developed with the respectful stewardship of our environment in mind. Ted’s projects have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle and Architectural Digest.

Ted’s military service included five years in the United States Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps with several assignments with the US Navy Seabees. He is a licensed contractor and real estate broker in California and has raised close to $40M for repositioning several multifamily assets in the Bay Area.

He has served as president of the Golden Gate Wine Society. He comments regularly on his chosen real estate market space via his blog Cursed by Knowing the Numbers and on how PV can make a difference via Burn Some Daylight. He has spoken to audiences from the Urban Land Institute and CoreNet Northern California on incorporating solar assets in investment real estate projects. He developed and teaches the UC Berkeley Extension course titled Investment Grade Solar Feasibility Studies, preparing professionals for developing profitable solar power plants.

Ted has a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from MIT and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
