Chuck Burleson

Chuck Burleson, AIA, LEED AP, a Senior Consultant with Brookwood Group, is also Owner and Principal of Sustainable Project Management, LLC. A registered architect for 27 years, he has been involved in Program/Project Management since 1990. Mr. Burleson’s project teams have consistently achieved a sterling record of on-time, under-budget results through servant leadership, effective team-building and a commitment to excellence. Chuck recognizes that project management is a process-driven practice, requiring a balance between attention to detail and an eye toward the big picture.

Chuck has an extensive portfolio of completed work across the country, providing program and project management services and consultation, as well as master planning and design and construction administration services. He has focused on complex interior renovations, broadcast facilities, corporate offices and building restacks, commercial/retail facilities and multi-site roll-outs, especially for banking and automotive clients. He recently completed his second major Newsroom renovation project for The Weather Channel in Atlanta. His Brookwood Group experience includes the development of bridging documents for a major corporate client in Mexico as well as design and construction management for a variety of corporate office and banking facilities. His banking clients include Wells Fargo, Bank of America, SunTrust, The Federal Reserve, Chase Manhattan and Chemical Bank. Mr. Burleson spent two years as Senior Program Director for ADVENTpds, an Atlanta-based program and project management firm, where his efforts were directed toward management of and business development for commercial and retail projects for corporate and institutional clients including CarMax and the Texas Department of Transportation. Mr. Burleson gained proficiency in broadcast and high-tech projects as Vice President for Architecture, Planning & Construction at Turner Broadcasting, Inc. In his ten years at Turner, Chuck and his team completed 500+ projects for the CNN News group and other Turner corporate units valued at over $350 million. Utilizing their unique collaborative processes, every project was delivered on time and under budget.

Chuck is a successful team leader who stresses the importance of collaboration, clear communication and the willingness to pitch in at any level, wherever the need may be. A highly principled individual, confident in his abilities and opinions, a believer in innovative planning and design as well as creative problem-solving, he places the needs of family, friends and faith first and feels that the foundation of a successful project, just as that of contented and abundant living, is built on strong personal relationships.

Mr. Burleson received a B.S. degree in architecture from Georgia Tech in 1977 and an M. Arch. Degree from Georgia Tech in 1986. Professional affiliations include the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Southface Energy Institute. He is also a Founding Member of the Bridging Institute of America.
